Our guest on the podcast this week is Indrani Goradia. Indrani is a philanthropist, keynote speaker, and advocate for women’s health and empowerment. She is the founder of Indrani’s Light Foundation now doing business as RAFT cares providing training to advocates in sexual and domestic violence shelters. She is also a founding member of Maverick Collective, joined forces with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and PSI International to transform the lives of girls and women by training agencies in the domestic violence arena. Her work was implemented in India, Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and Quito. And these are just a few of her achievements out of a very long list…
Listen in as Indrani speaks about her own violent childhood, and how with her first child she found herself ready to continue as an abuser. This is a deeply intimate conversation that takes us to the very heart of abuse and how Indrani made a commitment to be a parent without using any violence, and how at the age of 50 she turned her life around and used her experiences to begin a global movement to end violence in the world. Along the way, Indrani gives voice to things that are often unexpressed in our culture as she shares so much valuable wisdom for us all to protect ourselves and our children from predators, and how we can all contribute to a more peaceful world.
