Radical Compassion: How listening with compassion can change the world

Our guest on the podcast this week is Cheryl Hanson.

Cheryl has had a career in the non-profit sector. She has served with many organizations like African Leadership, Refugees Ministries, World Vision, Second Harvest Food Bank, Feeding America and various other organizations working with different communities of immigrants, the homeless, gang members, and prisoners.

She has found in her work, helpful ways to open communication and understanding with others of different races, faiths, politics or orientation.

Listen in as we take a deep dive into compassionate communication, and the ways we can break down our fears about others who appear different, by deepening our understanding and expanding our world view.

Cheryl shares such wisdom as she describes bringing this work to challenging places, to open conversations in prisons between offenders and members of the victims’ families, of the power of truly listening to another’s perspective and how this opens our hearts and minds to “love anyway”.
